Big plans after lockdown

Six months back, I was happy being a couch potato and binging on Netflix shows. My life motto — “Inside Good. Outside Bad.” Then, the biggest crisis in our lives happened — the threat of coronavirus made us voluntarily stop stepping out of our homes. Now, all I could do was watch Netflix and switch it up with Prime Video. No other source of entertainment. And, I acutely felt the loss of options. Not that I exercised those options much before. You know how it is. You don’t feel the loss till it is taken away.

Life is going back to some normalcy. It’s still a few months away but the optimist in me can see the silver lining. So, I decided once things open up, I will work on a few more stuff which is away from my usual comfort zone. No more voluntary house arrest for me. Thank you very much. Feel free to pick up from my list of things.

  • I am taking a Salsa dancing class with or without my husband (A threat in writing. I know he will capitulate).
  • There is an Italian cooking class near my home which teaches you to make Pasta and Pizza from scratch. I love their restaurant and I have thought of it a hundred times that I would like to learn. Well, let them open up and I will be the first to enrol. (Mom — not for the next few months when it's still unsafe. Chill and breathe)
  • Plan a weekend getaway. I always find it too tiring to plan a weekend getaway because most of the places nearby involve hiking or camping and it feels like too much effort. I find my home so much more comfortable. This time I won't let my laziness get its way and I will let my lungs breathe some clean air.
  • Buy fresh fruits and vegetables. This might seem silly but for the past couple of years, I have always ordered my groceries from Nature Basket, Amazon Pantry, Big Basket. My laziness knows no bounds. And, yes I am craving human connection so much that even vegetable shopping seems like a dream come true.
  • Join a book club. There is a great book club near my home. They meet every 2 weeks. It would be a great way to connect with like-minded people and also ensure that I don't give in to binging tv shows.

Now, I have to go stream Killing Eve on Netflix. There is still time for me to actually work on the above list. And, the show is freaking amazing! Bye Bye.
